Improving the efficiency of Operating Theatres & provision of Oxygen Concentrators

Biomed International was awarded the project funded by the Government of the Republic of France where financial assistance was provided to develop infrastructure facilities of the healthcare institutions that were devastated by the Tsunami. Accordingly, the Company undertook the refurbishment of these hospitals by successfully improving efficiencies of operating theatres and provision of Oxygen Concentrators.

Healthcare institutions in the North and East were the main beneficiaries of this grant as the French Government was keen to uplift the quality of life of the residents of this region, as they were unable to access quality healthcare due to their low economic standards. One major problem facing these hospitals was the hardships in obtaining their daily requirements of life-saving Oxygen from Colombo. To remedy this situation, which was also a humanitarian need, Oxygen Concentrators were supplied to the hospitals to generate their own requirements of Oxygen.

The Karapitiya Hospital, Polonnaruwa Hospital and Anuradhapura Hospital were also identified for development in this programme.
